If you are in a Network Marketing business and nobody is putting up negative forums or reviews on the Internet, then your company is really not growing.
Any time you have a big growing company with thousands or millions of distributors, you can be sure to find some unhappy former or even current distributors.
As a distributor it is not your job to join these groups and defend your company. This is a battle you are never going to win!
The people in this groups are determined and may genuinely be upset about something that happened to them and they do have the right and freedom of speech to express how they feel. However, behind this veneer of freedom of speech lies a murky world of adult cyber bullies and dishonest forums or group admins who are good at manipulating their audience to increase site ranking or to smear another company’s image for their own pockets.
Most likely your MLM company knows that these groups exists but they probably know they don’t have any ground to bring any type of law suit. So, why should you give them any attention?
The reality is, just about every big business, and every MLM/Network Marketing company has some type of negative review online or social media. By the way this include Mega Churches too! If you take just a few minutes to Google big businesses, churches or well known pastors, you will sure find some types of negative online forums talking about them.
What You May Not Know About Negative Online Reviews/Group
Most negative reviews/Forums are selling or promoting something. The people who starts these group or post these reviews in most cases have a monetary gain and that is in most cases the driving force.
If you pay attention, you will realize inside the groups they are either recommending something else, selling you something or basically selling ads space. Even if you do not see anything being sold or recommended, you will realize in just about all of them there are advertisements.
So in order to make money from those ads, they need traffic. By creating a group they attract lots of traffic from other unhappy former or current members. Have you also noticed these groups allow you to make comments even if you are defending your company – which as I mentioned above you should not waste time doing?
Why do you think they allow people with different views than theirs to post? Traffic Baby! The more traffic they have the more money they make from either ads or whatever else they maybe offering as an alternative to your company or MLM in general.
So, by you visiting these online forums, you are actually helping them get ranked by search engines like Google because they see they are constantly getting readers. Even if you do not comment, the fact that you visit the site is actually a plus to them when it comes to search engine ranking.
This is why you realize these forums sometimes are on the top 3 pages of Google search results when people are searching information about your company. If distributors left these groups alone and not keep checking to see what they are saying, they will not have top search engine indexing results. They will be pushed way back from search results.
What If Your Prospects Or New Team Members Stump On These Negative Reviews
This is usually a concern to a lot of distributors and even leaders in Network Marketing industry. Well, there are are a few things you can do to stay a step ahead of these groups. When you are talking to a prospect or a new team member you can easily discredit these groups whether they have seen them or not.
Ask them if they are easily influenced by others opinion. Almost all of them will tell you no. Once they say that, then let them know that there is always going to be someone or some people who will try to spew negative comments about the business both offline and online.
Some of the people that speaks so negative about our business have never even done it. Ask them who their favorite well known Pastor, Charitable Organization or Celebrity is. Whatever answer they give you, always inform them that if they Google that person or organization, they will find some negative reviews. But let them know you are glad to know they don’t easily get influenced by others.
I also like to inform people that a lot of those online forums are started either by competitors or people with hidden monetary agenda of driving traffic to their site so they make money either from ads or selling other products. Always end with a positive note. Let them know of your company’s happy customers and distributors.
If a company has thousands of distributors and customers and 99.9% of them are happy then you cannot give too much attention to the less than one percent that keep complaining. Now, let me be clear, the company should always make sure they have done their best to satisfy every customer and every distributor. But truth is, you can never please everyone. Some people will never be satisfied no matter what and there is nothing you can do about them.
So, in conclusion, be well informed about your company and products and stop visiting any negative online forum about your company because you will only be helping them get higher ranking. Don’t 
feed your mind with negativity even if your intention of visiting the sites is to put up some truth and defend your company.
If you keep arguing with them, they will drain your energy, give you a bad day or you will become just like them. It is not your job to defend your company.
Instead, use your time wisely and focus on Income Producing Activities. The time you spend going back and forth with people in these forums can be best used to train a new team member, talk to prospect, write a business blog post or record a business presentation video.
